First opened to the public in October 2011, Gardens By The Bay is a park that occupies 101 hectares of reclaimed land, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir.
First announced to the public by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong during the National Day Rally in August 2005, Gardens by the Bay is intended to become Singapore's premier urban outdoor recreation space, and a national icon.
Gardens By The Bay consists of three main parts - Bay Central Garden@Singapore, Bay East Garden, and Bay South Garden.
Bay Central Garden@Singapore features a 3 km-long waterfront promenade that allows for scenic walks along the bay.
Bay East Garden provides visitors with an unobstructed view of the city skyline.
Bay South Garden features a conservatory complex that comprises two cooled conservatories – the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest, the Supertrees Grove and the Children's Garden.
